1. What is this lawsuit about?
(top)
Marvin Fielder and the other named plaintiffs purchased cars financed by CAC.
They filed this lawsuit claiming they were overcharged for official fees and
interest on their car contracts and that the notices CAC sent them upon
repossessing their cars did not comply with Missouri law. They brought this
case as a class action on behalf of other Missouri residents who may have
similar claims against CAC.
2. Why did I receive the Notice of Proposed Settlement?
(top)
You received this Notice because you have been identified as a possible class
member of the Fielder Settlement Class and may be entitled to receive benefits.
After over ten years of litigation, a proposed Settlement has been negotiated
on behalf of the entire class and approved by the Court. Your rights as a class
member are more fully described in the Notice and in the “Order And Final
Judgment”.
3. What do I need to do if I want to receive benefits from the
Settlement? (top)
You do not need to do anything to receive benefits from the Settlement. Under
the terms of the Settlement, there is no need for you to submit a claim. You
will automatically receive any benefits due to you under the Settlement and be
bound by the Settlement.
4. Will it cost me any money to participate?

No, there is no cost to you to participate in the Fielder Settlement.
5. The Notice mentions a Fairness Hearing that was to be held

Settlement.
6. What Benefits will the Class Member get under the
Settlement? (top)
CAC has agreed to pay thirteen million one hundred forty-five thousand dollars
as part of the Settlement. This fund will be divided among class members and
used to pay expenses and attorneys’ fees. In addition, CAC will also write off
some class members’ entire account balances and reduce other members’ account
balances. For eligible class members against whom CAC has court judgments, the
judgments will be shown on the court record as fully satisfied or as partially
satisfied in accordance with the account adjustments. CAC will also take steps
to correct class members' credit reports in accordance with the account
adjustments. Please see the Notice and the Order And Final Judgment for more
details concerning the benefits for class members.
